When he rescues a drowning woman in the ocean, she's more than what she appears. Hunting sirens is more than an unsavory hobby-it's his calling. The ocean is the only place Prince Elian calls home, even though he is heir to the most powerful kingdom in the world. Robbed of her song, Lira has until the winter solstice to deliver Prince Elian's heart to the Sea Queen and or remain a human forever. To punish her daughter, the Sea Queen transforms Lira into the one thing they loathe most-a human. Until a twist of fate forces her to kill one of her own. With the hearts of seventeen princes in her collection, she is revered across the sea.

Princess Lira is siren royalty and the most lethal of them all. But definitely recommend reading, a great Little Mermaid retelling especially since I don’t really like the original story all that much 😂.Lira, a famous siren, must prove herself by stealing the heart of the man, a prince, threatening their race in this dark and action-packed debut. Overall I liked this book quite a lot, but some things I felt like I was missing, and the ending was not what I was expecting at all, really wanted something different after all that they went through. they served their purpose as support to both of the MC’s but nothing else, even though I loved the “side couple” and would have loved more on their story! And I feel like the side characters kind of got lost, I probably won’t remember their names a week from now. I felt that the book was a little mixed in pacing, some parts took ages and others I blinked and they had already finished but overall really enjoyed the story telling. I really liked the slow burn romance between our main characters Lira and Elian during the first half of the book, both of them are fighting to be the opposite of what their families want / or made them to be. I really enjoyed the writing, I could picture everything clearly and loved all the kingdoms we visited and that they’re names correlated with the greek meaning of themselves. So, this is a retelling of The Little Mermaid (which I completely ignored and only figured out after starting 😂) in an enemies to lovers kind of romance.
